It is a privilege to join the City University of Science and Information Technology at an important stage in its academic journey. CUSIT has built a strong foundation through its commitment to quality education, dedicated faculty, diverse academic programs, growing research culture, and the energy and aspirations of its students. My foremost responsibility is to build upon these existing strengths while preparing the University for the opportunities and challenges of a rapidly changing world. Universities today must do more than transmit knowledge. They must create knowledge, cultivate critical and creative minds, respond to societal needs, and contribute meaningfully to economic, technological, and cultural development. My vision for CUSIT is therefore centered on academic excellence, innovation, research, institutional growth, and social impact. In the years ahead, we will work to strengthen academic standards and quality assurance, promote interdisciplinary and problem-oriented research, expand opportunities for faculty and student development, and deepen our engagement with industry, government, communities, and national and international academic institutions. Particular emphasis will be placed on emerging technologies, entrepreneurship, digital transformation, and research that addresses real-world challenges.
At the same time, progress must remain rooted in the fundamental purpose of education: the development of responsible, ethical, confident, and intellectually independent individuals. We want our graduates not only to be professionally competent, but also to possess the values, adaptability, leadership skills, and sense of social responsibility required to contribute positively to Pakistan and the wider world.
I believe that the next phase of CUSIT's development should be characterized by collaboration and purposeful growth. Faculty, students, alumni, administrative staff, industry partners, and the wider community all have an important role in shaping the University's future. By creating an environment that encourages dialogue, intellectual curiosity, creativity, and excellence, we can transform our institutional strengths into lasting academic and societal impact. Our ambition is clear: to further establish CUSIT as a forward-looking university recognized for the quality of its teaching, the relevance of its research, the success of its graduates, and its contribution to society.
