Introduction

City University of Science & Information technology (CUSIT) Peshawar has established a five years professional degree program through Department of Pharmacy that would prepare students to pursue their careers as pharmacists in a variety of practice settings. The Department of Pharmacy has well qualified and experienced teaching staff along, well-equipped laboratories, spacious library with sufficient course related books and internet facility to prepare and train manpower in the field of pharmacy. The Institute focuses on overall personality development and research exposure. We are committed to provide value based education through competitive intelligence with well-defined discipline.

Pharm-D is a five years degree program (ten semesters) with 198 credit hours and clerkship in the clinical settings. The curriculum approved by HEC and Pharmacy Council of Pakistan (PCP) provides an appropriate balance of coursework in biomedical sciences (basic and clinical), pharmaceutical sciences, drug control and pharmacy practice. The goal of the curriculum is to train students to be life-long learners who can provide pharmaceutical care in a variety of health care settings including community, medical institutions, health care facilities, research and development organizations and the pharmaceutical industry. Career opportunities for pharmacists include employment at community pharmacies, hospitals, long-term care centers, home health, public health, veterinary medicine, drug research and development, academia, and community medical clinics. Their role as pharmacist would be indispensable in the deliverance of all health care services.
